The Global White Shark Project
At OCEARCH, we’re on a mission to solve the Global White Shark Puzzle. There are nine populations of white sharks across the globe and OCEARCH’s goal is to assist regional scientists to better understand the life of the white shark in each of these populations.

EXPEDITION SAVE THE MED: SPAIN, FRANCE, & IRELAND
OCEARCH is traveling 4,000 miles to explore European waters and study the Mediterranean white shark population.
We believe that in the summer and fall the Mediterranean white shark population migrates out of the Mediterranean Sea to forage in eastern North Atlantic waters.
This is why we will begin solving the puzzle of the Mediterranean White Shark Population off the coasts of Spain, France and Ireland.
Our large apex predators create balance and abundance in the ocean; if we can save our sharks in the Mediterranean, we can save the Mediterranean.
Just one shark can help unlock the secrets of the Mediterranean white shark population and help us better protect the region.
Expedition Save the Med: Spain, France & Ireland will take place this summer from July 29 – September 23.
