Dr. Nick Whitney of MOTE Marine Laboratory retrieves the accelerometer pop off tag that was placed on a great white shark off the coast of Cape Cod on September 13, 2012. This is the first time this kind of data will be gathered on a white shark. This is historical for shark research.
